US Attacks Mexico City 1847

Alien US troops under the command of General Winfield Scott reached the outskirts of Mexico City, and began bombarding the city with artillery.  Thousands of civilians were killed and injured during the invasion on September 14, 1847, during the US Mexican War (1846 to 1848).  Scott initially reported 1000 soldiers killed and 1700 wounded in the fighting in the city streets. US forces implemented a reign of terror in the civilian city and forced the Mexican citizens to pay $3 million in gold and platinum.
Las tropas estadounidenses bajo el mando del general Winfield Scott llegaron a las afueras de la ciudad de México y comenzaron a bombardear la ciudad con artillería. Miles de civiles murieron y resultaron heridos durante la invasión del 14 de septiembre de 1847. Scott informó inicialmente de 1000 soldados muertos y 1700 heridos en los combates en las calles de la ciudad. Las fuerzas estadounidenses establecieron un reino de terror y obligaron a los habitantes a pagar $ 3 millones en oro y platino.
