The Federal Constitution of Mexico 1824

The Federal Constitution of Mexico was ratified on October 4, 1824, after the overthrow of Mexican Emperor Augustin I, a former general who had decided to crown himself. The representative federal republic was christened the United Mexican States.  The constitution promulgated three branches of power:  Legislative, Executive and Judicial.  The Legislative branch was represented by two chambers of Deputies and Senators, and the terms of the President and Vice President were limited to four years.  About 30 years later, this constitution was replaced by the Federal Constitution of the United Mexican States of 1857.
La Constitución Federal de México fue ratificada el 4 de octubre de 1824, tras el derrocamiento del emperador mexicano Agustín I, ex general que había decidido coronarse a sí mismo. La representativa república federal fue bautizada como Estados Unidos Mexicanos. La constitución promulgó tres poderes: Legislativo, Ejecutivo y Judicial. El Poder Legislativo estuvo representado por dos Cámaras de Diputados y Senadores, y los mandatos de Presidente y Vicepresidente se limitaron a cuatro años. Aproximadamente 30 años después, esta constitución fue reemplazada por la Constitución Federal de los Estados Unidos Mexicanos de 1857.
