The First Catholic Mass en el Norte

On February 26, 1733, the first Catholic Mass was celebrated at the first Catholic Church in the 13 North American colonies. Saint Joseph’s Church was founded by the Jesuits in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  The church was a short walk from the home of Juan de Miralles, the Spanish diplomat and merchant who resided in Philadelphia to assist the rebels during the American Revolutionary War.  For more information on the assistance by Latinx and Hispanics to the American Revolutionary War, please visit www.OurAmericanHistory.com

El 26 de febrero de 1733, la primera misa católica celebrada en la primera iglesia católica en las colonias de América del Norte 13. Iglesia de San José fue fundada por los jesuitas en Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. La iglesia estaba a pocos pasos de la casa de Juan de Miralles, el diplomático español y el comerciante que residía en Filadelfia para ayudar a los rebeldes durante la guerra revolucionaria americana.
