General Juan Alberto Melgar Castro overthrows Honduras Government

On April 22, 1975, General Juan Alberto Melgar Castro took power in an overthrow of the government in Honduras.  His predecessor was implicated in a bribery scandal with the United Fruit Company, a US corporation.  Castro was a graduate of the US School of the Americas, which has educated a number of less than stellar pupils, including Manual Noriega. Castro was in turn overthrown by the Honduran military in 1979.
El 22 de abril de 1975, el general Juan Alberto Melgar Castro tomó el poder en el derrocamiento del gobierno de Honduras. Su predecesor fue implicado en un escándalo de soborno de la United Fruit Company, una corporación de EE.UU.. Castro era un graduado de la Escuela de las Américas, EE.UU., que ha educado a un número menor de alumnos estelares. Castro fue a su vez derrocado por los militares hondureños en 1979.
