Trinidad Romero, Entrepreneur of the Santa Fe Trail 1835

June 14, 1835 is the birthday of Trinidad Romero, born in Santa Fe, New Mexico.  As an officer of the Spanish Army assigned to Santa Fe, his grandfather was one of the earliest settlers in New Mexico.  In 1851 Romero began a merchandising and freight operation on the Santa Fe Trail. He entered politics and served in local offices.  In 1876 he was elected as a Delegate to the US Congress.  President Harrison appointed him as US Marshall in 1889 and he held that position until 1893.

Como oficial del Ejército español asignado a Santa Fe, su abuelo fue uno de los primeros colonos de Nuevo México. En 1851, Romero comenzó una operación de merchandising y de mercancías en el Camino de Santa Fe. Entró en la política y sirvió en las oficinas locales. En 1876 fue elegido como delegado al Congreso de los EE.UU.. Presidente Harrison le nombró EE.UU. Marshall en 1889 y ocupó el cargo hasta 1893.
